LOVE my new desk and chair!
Love the everyday desk and the Ergo Lounge chair. The table has the simplicity I was after and the chair is the perfect cross between an office chair and a lounge chair. I even easily assembled it all myself which I was super happy about. What a lovely organisation and top quality products. I bought a standing desk for my music station and it’s perfect. Functional and stylish, my favourite combination. I assembled it myself, which was relatively straightforward, though a few hiccups with the provided instruction. These however Were swiftly solved by the delightful Erica in customer.

Amazing furniture... Even better customer service
We ordered two standing desks and two Ergo Pro 2.0 chairs as I was suffering with intense lower back pain (after using sub-standard chairs for years). These chairs look fantastic and are incredibly supportive. Very happy with our purchase and highly recommended. Beautiful chair
The chair delivered was exactly same one that I expected. Its beautiful design and material was good quality. I was a bit worried about assembly but it was super easy due to manual. My first impression after complete assembly was extremely smooth in terms of rolling. The sitting experience was also excellent cause I felt my back was fully supported. I bought many chairs from local officework stores but definitely I can say this is different class and different level of quality.

Just what I needed
My old 'office' chair has been causing me discomfort for a couple of years, but I've never found what seemed to be the right replacement. Tried instead various cushions and chair pads, until RECESS came up on my FB feed. The adjustments are perfect and it's really comfortable, and looks much less obtrusive in our lounge-study space. Showroom
Do you have a showroom where I can try your products?
Yes! We’d love for you to experience our products in person. Our showroom is located at 26 Queen St, Chippendale NSW 2008, and you’re welcome to drop by during our opening hours
Do I need to book an appointment to visit the showroom?
Walk-ins are always welcome. But to make sure you get the full experience, we recommend booking an appointment so one of our team can give you a proper demo and answer all your questions. Our showroom is open Tuesday to Thursday, from 9am to 5pm, we’d love to see you then.

What can I try out in the showroom?
You’ll be able to test our ergonomic chairs, standing desks, soundproof booths, and accessories so you can find the perfect fit for your needs.
Can I purchase directly from the showroom?
Unfortunately not. We don’t keep stock at the showroom, but you can easily place your order online and we’ll have it delivered to your door by our courier. Super simple and hassle-free.

How do I edit my order?
Changed your mind? No worries, just send us an email to hello@recess.com.au as soon as you can so we can make the change before your order is dispatched. We’ll do our best to tweak things for you. Once your order has been processed or shipped though, it might be a little too late to make changes but reach out anyway, we’re here to help.
Can I change my shipping address after ordering?
Yes, you sure can, as long as your order hasn’t been sent out already. Just let our support team know right away and we’ll make sure your goodies get sent to the right spot.
What is the estimated delivery time?
We’re just as excited as you are for your order to arrive! Here’s a handy guide:
- Metro areas (Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane): 2-3 business days
- Regional areas: 5-7 business days
- Other states and territories: up to 7-10 business days
Once your order is on the move, we’ll keep you updated with tracking details so you know exactly when to expect it.
How can I track my order?
As soon as your order hits the road, you’ll get an email or SMS with your tracking number. You can follow it step by step until it lands safely at your door.
Can I choose a specific delivery date or time?
We don’t offer exact delivery scheduling just yet. But don’t stress you’ll get tracking updates, so you’ll always have a heads-up on when your delivery is due.
Do you deliver to my area or postcode?
Chances are, yes! We deliver to most metro and regional areas across Australia. You can double-check at checkout, or if you’re unsure, just ask us and we’ll confirm for you.
How can I expect my products to arrive?
Like a gift on your doorstep, Everything is securely boxed and carefully packed so it arrives safe and sound. You’ll also get tracking details so you can follow along on its journey home.
Here’s what to expect depending on what you’ve ordered:
- Chairs and accessories: 1 box
- Everyday Desk: 3 boxes
- Standing Desk: 2 boxes
You can also check the shipping dropdown menu on each product page to see specific weights of each product's box, so you can prepare that son in law of yours to assist with any heavy packages.
What if part of my order is missing?
This normally doesn’t happen, but in the rare case it does, please send us an email at hello@recess.com.au with your order number and a quick note about what’s missing. We’ll jump on it straight away and make sure everything gets sorted for you
Product Information and Assembly
Where can I find measurements or spec sheets?
You’ll find dimensions and specifications on each product page. If you’re after something more specific, feel free to reach out to us.
Is assembly required? How long does it take?
Yes most of our furniture is delivered flat-packed for safe and efficient shipping and thus assembly is required. But don’t worry, our assembly instructions have been designed to make the assembly process simple and hassle-free. Depending on the product, it usually takes 15 to 45 minutes to set up (even quicker with a power drill!).
Can you provide a copy of the assembly instructions?
Absolutely. Our products include a QR code inside the box that links to an assembly instructions page. Simply just select the product you ordered and away you go. But if you prefer, we’re more than happy to send you a digital copy, just let us know.
Can I request professional assembly or white-glove delivery?
Is the Pope Catholic? Of course we do. If you’re in an eligible area, you’ll see the option to add our “Sit Back & Relax” service at checkout. This includes both delivery and professional assembly, so all you need to do is open the door, and we’ll handle the rest, including rubbish recycling and disposal.
