Refund policy

30-Day Returns & Exchanges

We have a 30-day Returns & Exchanges policy, which means you have 30 days from the date of your product being delivered to request a refund or exchange. We can provide a store credit, refund or exchange for another product where the products being returned meet the following conditions:

  • You contact us within 30 days of your product(s) being delivered
  • Your product(s) is in a similar condition that you received it, undamaged or without significant wear and tear deemed to be at the customer's fault. This includes external & internal packaging.

In the case of a refund request, the refund amount excludes the shipping rate you paid upon purchase, and a further 10% re-stocking fee will be deducted. Should you wish to receive store credit instead, you will be given an exclusive discount code equivalent to the full amount paid upon purchase, including the shipping rate.

In the case of an exchange request, you will be charged two separate delivery rates for the pickup of your existing item and delivery of your new item. See our shipping rates here for further information.  

To start a refund or exchange, you can contact us at hello@recess.com.au or the sales team member who assisted you in your purchase. Depending on the product you ordered, we'll then either send out a courier to come to pick up the product or agree on an appropriate time for us to come out to your office or residence to assess, disassemble and take away the product in question. Please note - the product should be packaged back up in its original box and internal packaging.

We will notify you by email once we've received and inspected your product, and let you know if the refund is approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

 

Damaged Items

Please inspect your product upon assembly and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or not what you expected, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. Of course, where an item is defective or damaged during delivery, any delivery or returns fees will not be charged upon sending out a new item.

 

Exceptions and limitations

Our risk-free return policy does not apply to any product that has evidently been damaged by your yourself or someone else outside of Recess Work employees and contractors. This includes but is not limited to things like drawing on any part of the product. Specifically, when it comes to moving The Nook (soundproof phone booth) to a different area of the office, you as the customer are taking on the risk of any potential damage to the booth in doing so. 

Recess's 30-day return policy only applies to the first purchase of a particular product. For example, where a customer purchases a second product being the same as their prior purchase and whereby the 30 days on that initial purchase has expired, the 30-day return policy for the second product no longer applies. This of course excludes the scenarios where a product is defective or damaged due to manufacturing.

As well, our returns and refund policy does not apply to products that have been marked as 'clearance' stock prior to purchasing.
