Soundproofing
The Nook is constructed from high quality materials, recycled PET acoustic panels, ethically certified wood and recyclable steel. It boasts up to 32dB sound reduction so think of it as a private working area, free from any noise or distractions.
Ventilation
2 x 12V silent fans draw fresh air in from the base and out through the ceiling of every booth to ensure a more than adequate supply of fresh air in the space.
Lighting & Power Needs
12W LED softbox spreads light evenly throughout to keep you productive whilst you work. USB and Australian mains sockets come as standard to keep you connected. A 5m long power cable makes it easy for you to position the booth anywhere near a powerpoint.

Do you offer Australia wide shipping and assembly?
We offer shipping and assembly Australia wide. A delivery and assembly fee from $495 will be applied at checkout, depending on your State and postal code. Please get in touch with us via hello@recess.com.au for a quote on how much delivery and assembly would cost for your delivery address.
Assembly on-site is completed by team Recess during business hours: Monday-Friday; 9:00AM – 5:00PM.
What is the lead time for delivery from placing an order?
Lead times can vary and it's best to double check with us when getting a quote. Generally speaking, expect a lead time of 4-8 weeks from placing a deposit for a booth.
How does the booth come together?
Our individual booths come together in about 45 minutes with two people assembling & our meeting booths take 3-4 hours. The booths come as prefabricated pieces off site and are designed to be easily assembled on site. Each panel is joined together with just a few screws and a trusty old drill. Should you ever have any issues with how your booth has been assembled, please contact hello@recess.com.au so we can help you out.
How long does assembly take?
Assembly on individual booths should take team Recess no longer than 45 minutes per booth but we recommend leaving an hour just to be safe.
Orders & Payment
Will I receive an invoice and tracking confirmation of my order?
Of course, once your order has been paid for you'll receive a confirmation email with the invoice and tracking information.
What are your payment terms for securing a booth?
Generally, we require a 50% down payment upon placing an order and the remaining 50% post-delivery. However, any issues with this, feel free to give us a shout and we're sure we can accommodate your business' particular needs.

Just as expected with some hiccups
I bought a Nook booth because I wanted somewhere to practice singing that would dampen my horrible noises from my neighbors. There's several soundproof booths on the market that do that but their sales and logistical channels are quite poor. Just being able to outright buy the Nook from their website put them a step ahead of their competition and they are an Australian company too. I'm based in Australia and although they're marketed towards quiet workspaces there's no reason why you couldn't also use a Nook booth for music. So I ended up getting one of these and assembling it with my brother. Assembly was straight forwards and required ******** in bolts into pre-drilled holes with a drill. The only downside I note is the booth is very heavy. We weren't able to lift it on our own and had to use a removal company. But that issue was quickly sorted and $80 later the booth was standing. So I imagine some people want to know how good the soundproofing is? I haven't done any tests with a dB meter or anything. But I can tell you stepping inside the booth loud birds and dog barking instantly disappears. I ran a loud white noise machine next to the booth and inside the noise was much reduced. You're not going to get perfect noise reduction with this booth but it is significantly reduced. I feel more than comfortable practicing vocals inside it without worrying about neighbors. The other positive experience I'll say is the founders were very friendly and accommodating to any issues I had during the process. I think if someone needs a soundproof booth this is a very competitive, pragmatic, and reasonably priced option.

In the zone!
What did I do before the Nook in our office? It's the only place I now take my online meetings and calls. It's also an awesome place to really churn out some work with full focus and without distraction. Love getting in the Nook to get me in the zone! And it's almost always full these days, we'll soon be needing more
